Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In: Starting of Week 14

 

I started this yesterday, but never got around to finishing posting.

OK, I haven't really been trying to lose weight, but maybe this diet thing with MFP just comes naturally now. I'm eating better and conscious of what I put into my mouth. So I am losing weight even without "real" exercise (see below).



1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal. (BMI info from this website)

Starting weight: 145        
Last Week's Weight: 136
Current Weight: 135 (-10 lbs total, 10 lbs to goal)   
Goal Weight : 125       

Starting BMI: 26.5
Last Week's BMI: 24.1
Current BMI: 23.9 (In the normal range!!)
Goal BMI: 18.5-24.9 or exactly 22.1 for goal weight

2. Discuss what I am going to do to achieve my goals.

Progress on last week's activities:

1. Time my mile and run it at a pace of 5.2 miles an hour: fail
2. Continue with no soda or beer: fail
3. Go to yoga class: it was cancelled, so not exactly a fail
4. Continue with My Fit.ness Pal app: done
5. No eating out this week: fail
Activities for this coming week: (the more activities I attempt, the more I am likely to achieve)

1. Get to the gym and walk/run on the treadmill or go for a hike
2. Continue with no soda or beer
3. Go to yoga class
4. Continue with My Fit.ness Pal app
5. Limit eating out this week to one time/one meal

3. Post a (reasonably healthy) recipe that I've tried, a cooking tip, a new idea for working out for people to try, a photo update of my weight loss, or anything else I feel like sharing. 
I've not been to the gym in, like, two weeks. It's not that I'm exactly lazy, but without having TV, we have started many projects around the house. Each night, when I get home from work, we have to work on these projects so that some things will actually get done. I find these things to be exercise in and of themselves, but the husband (a personal trainer) doesn't agree. Also, all of these projects get done in addition to what I typically do.  
Here is last night's timeline, just for one evening's example:


5:15-leave work (this is particularly early for me)
5:20-get home from work (yes, my commute is all of 5 minutes max), change out of work clothes
5:30-leash up dogs and take for walk (we have 5 dogs and it takes a while to leash and unleash them)
6:00-Harvested the broccoli from our backyard garden (I harvested it already, a week and a half ago, but had more to cut down today)
6:30-Pull weeds from the garden and front yard (we did the rest of the back yard this past weekend and earlier this week)
7:00-Make dinner- (made velvee.ta shells and cheese, added some broccoli to it...fresh from the garden of course...and ate it with a side of broccoli and boiled beets...cause, frankly, I didn't know what else to do with the beets from the weekly organic delivery, and I've suddenly found myself up to my eyeballs in broccoli)
7:30-Enjoy dinner at the table with Nate, talk about our day and enjoy some down time
8:00-Pick up the house (including dog toys, blankets, bowls) and put away/file piles of crap on the table
8:15-Check up on blogs (but don't think to finish this post)
8:45-Pick up and start reading crochet book I bought (it's called "The Happy Hook.er") and start learning how to crochet
9:45-Get ready for bed and start reading other book I just got in the mail, sent all the way from the UK (it took me forever to get ahold of a copy of this book, infact I had e-mailed Maria...by the way, thanks for offering to send me a copy!...to try to get a copy before I finally found it on the UK's Amazo.n)
10:15-Lights out, I'm tired!

So, it's not exactly like I hiked home from work going uphill all the way, but I didn't sit down until 8:15 and I think that that should count!

Side Note: I just realised that I'm not exactly sure where kids are going to fit into this timeline, don't get me wrong, I want them anyway, but seriously?!?!?! How do you guys do it?

  2. That's awesome that you're still trucking along the downward path just by making smart food choices!!
    10# down is awesome!

    Yeah, it gets crazy with a kid to try to fit everything in. It just becomes the new normal though. :)

    I totally spaced writing my post this week for the first time ever. UGH. Oops.
